Growing with Kids: Life Lessons in the Garden

Some of my best memories of growing up in Corralitos, near Watsonville, is to plant my garden in the backyard. My mother had a large vegetable garden and fruit trees behind the house, but I had a little space in the corner that was mine.

I planted flowers and succulents, and I'm sure it was not the most beautiful garden in the world, but it was mine and that was what counted.

These days, with so many families to return to the land and cultivate their own food, there is no reason children should not enter into the law.In fact, children can learn many valuable life lessons by just taking a seed and put it in the ground, then find how to take care of it as it grows into a beautiful plant.

Summer Challenge: Again, 3 Weeks Behind

With as regular prayer and praying. Why? Because every time I write a schedule (eg Monday to pray for A, B, C, Tuesday to pray for D, E, F, etc.) I get an overwhelming boredom of repetition and predictability in a week or two, and move my thorough preparation. This happened several times that I can count. And there you have it! I wrote to all requests for prayer, both permanent ("DH - Concerns of employment") and temporary (eg for disruption of a friend of marriage, etc.).
