New Smart Card to Replace NYC Subway System's MetroCard
&Nbsp; In going through the turnstiles by swiping their credit card in front of a sensor. People who have no credit cards will have the option of purchasing an ATM card that works the same way. The MTA board will be available for sale in vending machines or token booths as former MetroCards.
With the new system, passengers can buy single rides where each amount is deducted from their credit cards or they will be able to buy securities weekly, monthly, or unlimited in advance.
