Gear of a Multi-Media Journalism Student

Going back to school can be a stressful time for most students. Last August, I made the leap to New York to start my grad program Multimedia Journalism at NYU called Studio 20. Directed by Jay Rosen, Studio 20 is a journalism program that covers programming, shooting video, audio, web design, and, of course, writing.

Even if the school began in September, my stress with facilities began in June, so I wanted to put this roundup of gadgets that I used and the lessons I learned from the budgeting of all this.I had no idea what kind of skills and equipment I needed. Also, I did not take a huge loan, because if the money is there, I knew I would find a way to spend it and later regret it. Note: do not remove the extra money for unforeseen events.

@ Gruppenfuhrer0 I recommend the manufacturer ontact "Canon". They have a line Servico support (by e-mail) and they are pretty quick to react (1-2 days). I bought an 8 GB card to replace my 8-speed 16GB card which was 2speed not allowing more than 10 seconds of film recording. Class 8-speed works well, then I do not know what could be wrong in your case. If you find no answer or solution, please contact Canon on its Web site support services.

550D (T2i in the U.S.) is the best camera for the money IMO.You get almost all the features that the 500D $ 1800 big brother (7D), except for magnesium body and a unique ISO few options ... justify these two elements as being worth $ 1,000. You can not. 500d/T2i best for easy money. I'll be ordering mine very soon.
